The Washington Post Names ThunderCat Technology a 2018 Top Washington-Area Workplace Second Year in a Row

Reston, VA June 28, 2018- For the second year in a row, ThunderCat Technology has been named one of The Washington Post’s 2018 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area. Selection is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, which measured several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection. This year’s 150 honorees include government contractors, law firms, nonprofits, schools, and businesses.

The employee survey gathered responses on 24 factors covering seven areas, including organizational health aspects that measure how well employees are working together toward a common cause:

  • Alignment — where the company is headed, its values, cooperation
  • Effectiveness — doing things well, sharing different viewpoints, encouraging new ideas
  • Connection — employees feel appreciated, their work is meaningful
  • My manager — cares about concerns, helps me learn and grow
  • Employee engagement — motivation, retention and referral
  • Leader — confidence in company leadership
  • The basics — pay, benefits, flexibility, training, expectations

“Overwhelmingly, employees of the companies honored on The Post’s Top Workplaces list not only value their workplace’s culture, but they also feel confident in the direction that their companies are going,” said Washington Post Top Workplaces editor Dion Haynes. “The standouts on this list excel because they focus on engaging their greatest asset: their people.”

Tom Deierlein, CEO commented; “We are excited to make this list a second year in a row. It helps us understand that we are doing some good things to ensure our employees feel valued and proud to be a part of ThunderCat. We will not rest on our laurels. The leadership team will continue to look for new ways to ensure that each and every employee here is empowered, feels connected to the overall team, and is given the environment and opportunities they need to be successful.”

The Washington Post hosted an awards ceremony on Thursday, June 21 to recognize the top-ranked companies. For more about The Washington Post’s Top Workplaces and to see the full list of this year’s honorees, visit http://www.washingtonpost.com/top-workplaces-2018.
