Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith has been in accounting and finance for over 15 years.  He currently is the CFO for ThunderCat Technology, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business based out of Reston, VA.  ThunderCat is a leading solutions partner to the U.S. Government, educational institutions, and commercial companies. Matthew oversees all financial, accounting, HR and office administration details. Matthew has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from West Virginia University (’04) and his MBA from the University of Maryland (’10).   In addition, he currently has his CPA (’07) and CCEP  (’16) certifications. Prior to ThunderCat, he was at public and private sector CPA firms based out of Washington, DC, engaging in federal audits and attestations, private sector audits and returns, and tax engagements.  The mix of these companies ranged from large, medium, small and startups.  Matthew is married to his wife Maryam and has two kids, Aria and Miles.
